Slings?
Slings is a practice founded by Karin Gurtner from Switzerland. She has brought all her knowledge from pilates, yoga and structural integration to create this rich and wonderfully fascia-focused practice.

Slings as a term refers to the internal connections between muscles and fascia, like myofascial meridians (lines/paths).

Picture was taken by Felix Peter and found on art of motion website. Read more about Slings on their website here or contact me and let's talk about it.
For whom is it?
There are 6 good reasons for doing Slings and if one or more things resonates with you, then this is for you!

*1. Postural ease - Adaptable postural balance and the related sense of inner equanimity.
2. Movement freedom - Poised and efficient movement as desired or demanded by life.
3. Movement love - The inner motivation to move, both in practice and in life.
4. Somatically at home - The feeling of inner belonging and togetherness.
5. Meaningful self-awareness - The conscious experience of feeling and the ability to acquire meaning from what is perceived.
6. Radiant vitality - Being end feeling vibrantly alive. *

What do I need?
The picture shows what is needed for a class and all the Slings-tools can be purchased HERE.
Already have similar tools? Consult me before using them in class, they might not be the right thing for this practice.

*On a practical level, envision a yoga-style setting for Slings lesson.

• The practice is done barefoot on a mat.
• The movements are performed with awareness and in a deliberate manner.
• The repertoire of excercises is versatile and contrasting, ranging from slow and controlled, to melting motions, to held poses, to rhythmical, dynamic movements.
• Self-massage excercises are incorporated by using relatively soft props, such as textured massage balls and domes.
• Although light weights may be utilised, the practice is generally done with bodyweight only.
• The excercises are adapted to suit individual requirements*
